Say it on the page.
Review any live website by leaving comments directly on it. Every comment stays pinned to the element it is about, with the browser and viewport it was left from.
Will first-time visitors get what “the page” means before they scroll? “on the site” might land faster.
The line right under it says “live website”. Keeping it, it is the whole point.
A thread, open right where the comment was left. This one is on the headline.
How it works
Open the page
The black toolbar sits at the bottom of the page. It runs in the browser: nothing to install, no account.
Click, or select, and write
Press + and click the element you mean, or select the exact words and choose Comment. The comment is pinned right there.
Reply and resolve
Anyone on the page can reply. When it is done, the author resolves the thread and it moves to the inbox.
What it does
Everything here works on this page right now, in the toolbar at the bottom of the window.
Pinned to the element
A comment stays attached to the element it is about, not to a screenshot of it. Scroll, resize, reload: the pin is still there.
On the exact words
Select text and comment on just that. The words stay highlighted on the page and are quoted in the thread.
One thread per comment
Anyone on the page can reply, so the question and the answer stay in one place, next to what they are about.
Resolve when it is done
The author resolves a thread once it is handled, or reopens it. Resolved threads leave the page.
An inbox for the page
Every thread on the page in one list, open or resolved. The toolbar shows how many are still open.
Works with a keyboard
Focus an element, press + and write. New comments and replies are announced to screen readers.

Questions
What is uier?
A way to review a live website on the page itself. A toolbar sits at the bottom of the page: pin a comment to an element or to selected text, reply in the thread and resolve it when it is done.
Can I use uier on my own website?
Not yet. Today uier runs on uier.io, so you can try everything it does on this page. Support for your own sites is being built in the open on GitHub.
Do I need an account?
No. You comment as a guest. Your first comment sets a cookie that lets you resolve and delete your own comments, and only yours.
Who can see my comments?
Everyone who opens the page: comments here are public. You show up as a guest name such as “Guest 3F2A”. Do not post personal information.
What is saved with a comment?
The text, the page and where on it the comment is pinned, the time, and the device it came from: its size, window size, browser and operating system. The privacy policy has the details.
How long are comments kept?
90 days after their last change, then they are deleted automatically. You can delete your own comments at any time.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Every feature available today is free and will stay free forever. If we introduce pricing, it will apply only to new features users want.
Is uier open source?
Yes. The website, the toolbar and the infrastructure are on GitHub. Open source explains the licenses.
Does it work with a keyboard?
Yes. Focus an element on the page, Tab to + in the toolbar and press Enter to comment on that element. New comments and replies are announced to screen readers.
